Should I Provide you with the Exact dimensions of my furniture- or should I add some room to my measurements?
If you provide us with the exact dimensions of your furniture or item- we will allow for the fitting. We know what to allow (the tolerances necessary) for the ease of getting the cover on and off, and so it is not too tight and not too baggy.
Of course, if you would prefer to specify what measurements you would like the cover to be finished to then that is also fine also. We will always ask you at the time you place your order if the measurements are of the exact furniture/ item or not. You will also see on your Final Confirmation Paperwork if we are to “Make Exact” to your measurements or if we are to “Allow for fitting”.
If you would prefer to make your own allowances and would prefer us to make a cover finished to your exact dimensions do bare in mind that our textile may not be the same as your previous cover. If you opt for one of our long-lasting PVC-ST covers be aware this textile does not stretch in anyway, and so when we “allow for fit” we often have the cover finish about 2-3cms bigger than the actual item, and we often take off 1cm from the height so that it allows for the extra droppage around the sides and so that the cover does not drag on the floor.
In many instances where we need additional measurements we will often ask you to measure exact- of course if we ask you this, this does mean please do measure exact, the reason being that our machinists use some of these measurements as reference points, and so getting the exact true measurement is very important. Of course try not to get too fanatical, if your measurement ends up being a few mm out the cover is still going to fit.
